Coffee Shop: The Dane

The Dane Coffee Shop

The coffee shop of the month is a newer addition to the Whittier Heights neighborhood.  The Dane has been around for 5 months now and it’s offerings include Stumptown Coffee, a variety of beer on tap (and some cider), as well as a small in house farm-to-table pastry company called Salmonberry. Located in a large corner venue, the Dane is a mix of mid-century decor and spacious industrial style architecture. It has high ceilings and a variety of tables styles from family style bench to bar stools, outdoor or couch seating by a kids toy zone. The atmosphere shifts in the afternoon and evening, as its focus becomes the 25 beers and ciders on tap and wine by the glass-  of course, there is always coffee to be enjoyed at any hour. All in all, the Dane has a very open atmosphere and is an excellent watering hole for casual gathering of friends or a place to hunker down and get some work done.
